How CareerShield works
A plain-English overview of what the app checks, what inputs it supports, and how to use the results responsibly while job hunting.
How scans work
You can submit a single job URL, a recruiter email, a pasted message, an offer, or a combined set of evidence. CareerShield runs structured rules and evidence checks, then returns a risk score, explanation, and next-step guidance.
Supported inputs
Job posting URL, job posting text, recruiter email address, recruiter outreach message, offer or onboarding text, company name, salary, applicant notes, multiple evidence items, and screenshot placeholder support for future OCR.
Risk levels
Low Risk, Caution, Suspicious, and High Risk. These bands are based on transparent scoring rules rather than a single opaque model judgment.
What we verify
Domain-company alignment, suspicious phrase patterns, URL characteristics, hiring-process shape, careers-page lookup readiness, and company verification signals when enough evidence is available.
What to avoid sending
Do not send SSNs, bank details, identity documents, or payment for equipment or training until the employer and role are independently verified.
Saved reports and exports
Authenticated users can save reports to their dashboard, reopen scans, and export PDF reports from the results page.
